Hello Nicole
Thank you and your lovely students for your kind letters. I really enjoyed them and felt that I got to know them!! It was special to learn about their lives and their goals. It was awesome to see how clever the students are at using the computer and software at such a young age.
Thank you for your kind words, follow your dreams and don't let anyone hold you back. Dream BIG!! Dreams come true, look at me!
Kind Regards
Aaron Smith

Team 3 Champs
Over the past term we have been having a soccer competition against Room 9 and 10 run by the Sports Pals at lunchtime. We got awarded this cool trophy in Assembly and get to keep it to the next challenge!
Planting Day
This afternoon Team 3 went out to the back of the field to plant some more plants in the garden. For our unit this term we have been learning about respecting and caring for the environment and we thought what better place to start than at school. Check out our photos below.

Ormie The Pig
We had a great writing session today Mrs Hinde played us the video of Ormie the Pig trying to get a cookie but she stopped it just as Ormie was jumping out of the plane. We had to then write the ending of the story. Check out some of our great writing.
Ormie gets out of the plane and gets his parachute out of his backpack. But his backpack falls off so Ormie falls down. He doesn't get the cookies. Next he gets some bouncing shoes but is is know use he doesn't get the cookies. He gets a ball and knocks the cookies down. He bites the juicy cookies but OH NO! Someone had tricked him, they are pretend cookies.
BY TESSA
Ormie jumps out of the plane and but misses the freezer. So he gets a car and drags the freezer and the cookie jar falls off and smashes. But all the cookies smash too. Ormie picks up all the little crumbs and eats them.
BY JT
Ormie was falling out of the plane. He was trying to get the cookies from the fridge but he fell into his pool. He trudged back home. He piled a load of wet sponges and climbed up, but as he reached for the cookies he slipped and fell flat on his face. Then he had an idea, I will drive the car into the fridge he thought. So he did! And what do you think happened?? The cookies came down. But alas! Another problem. He could not open the jar. So he smashed the jar and gobbled the cookies all up!
By Malena.
Ormie jumped out of the plane and landed on a seagull. The seagull rolled and rolled until ... he fell onto his roof. Ormie slid off and landed in his pool. He went inside and ordered a kangaroo. Ormie got it and hoped in the kangaroo's pouch. The kangroo started jumping and jumping. Ormie nearly got the biscuits but instead he fell out of the pouch. It didn't work. Ormie ordered a caveman to whack the fridge down. Ormie got the caveman and he whacked the fridge and the cookie jar fell down. Ormie was happy and ate some cookies. The caveman whacked Ormie in the head and then ate the cookies.
BY GEORGIA
Ormie fell and pulled the cord for the parachute. He fell onto the cookies. The glass broke and the cookies fell onto the ground. Ormie decided that he didn't want to eat the cookies because somebody might of picked their noes and threw it onto the ground where the cookies had landed.
BY JAMES BURNS
Ormie glided out of the white aeroplane. He reached out on his back to get his parachute but ... oh no. His parachute flew away then he was going down. Then he went flying threw the roof of the house with the yummy cookies. He reached out to grab them but ...he went flying threw the floor. Ormie was sick and tried of that happening. Next he tried being a secret spy but that wasn't much help AT ALL! So he decided he would have a little nap. Who is this coming along? It is Ormie's girlfriend who is a pig too. All she did was got a ladder and got the cookies. She got them because girls are better than boys. Ormie woke up and was shocked because the cookies were gone!!

Blog Buddies
The Visualisation Cube.
We are learning to visulise pictures in our heads using the words from books. We had visulise what the picture would be from a story Mrs Hinde read to us. We drew the pictures to match the words and we made a 3D cube. First we drew the pictures then we coloured them in. When we had finished we cut the cubes out and folded the corners and glued them together. We have got 7 finished cubes hanging on the wire in our room. It was good fun making them.

My Secret Object
We are learning to describe in Room 8 and as an introduction to it Mrs Hinde told us that we had to find an object in the classroom and describe it (without saying what it was) then the children had to guess it. Can you guess what these secret objects are??
My secret object is really colourful. It comes in blue, yellow, orange and green. We sometimes use them for maths. We also use them to play with. They are really awesome to use. They are in a big, white bucket and they are shaped like a 'C'. It is a really funny sort of thing. You can make all sorts of things with them like houses and some shapes. When you tip them out they scadattle everywhere. They are pretty cool. Can you guess what my secret object is??
BY REZIN
My secret object is something that you open. It is white and shaped like a square. We use them on a hot day if we don't have an air conditioner. My object is beside the wall. You can see through it. What is my object? By JT
My secret object is black and white. It has got numbers. When an hour has gone one arm moves. It sits on the wall above the door. The door that is it under has got a list of our birthdays on. You look at it to see if it is time to go to school. One arm on it keeps going around. My secret object is hard. What is my secret object?
BY KYRA
My secret object you can throw. It is used for counting. It is also used for maths. The colour is dark blue. My object is big and hard.
BY JAMES BURNS
My secret object is on a shelf. It has pages in it and it is colourful. It has a picture in it. It is where we put important stuff in it. What is it?
BY TESSA
Well, my secret object is something that goes kplonk when it shuts. This item has our name tag on it. The colour of it is grey and it can turn out pretty handy for holding stuff in. My secret object is ...

Weet-Bix Tryathlon
This week for blog buddies Curtis and Riordan are going tell us about the Weet-Bix Tryathlon.
Rosemary and Hugh did the tryathlon on Wednesday the 15th of February. They did swimming, biking and running. They ran to the bikes from the swimming pool so it was like they had to run twice. We took a photo of them with their medals.

Blog Buddies
Every week there will be two different Room 8 children that will post something on the blog (with Mrs Hinde's help). This week it is Georgia and Tiaana's turn. They have chosen to write about our trip yesterday.
Yesterday Team 3 went to the beach and we had a fabulous day. Once we got there we could hear the waves crashing. First we watched a funny DVD then we had morning tea. Then we went and had a look at all the IRB, knee boards, the big red tube, and the flags. We played a game of seaweed on the sand and then we had lunch. We got into our togs and ran out to the sea. We played running relays into the sea and then we went on the paddle boards and caught some waves. Some of the boys went out and caught the BIG waves with the lifeguards. We both fell off our paddle boards. We had a great day yesterday.
